Music magazine Questionnaire.

I handed out a number of questionnaires about what i should include in my magazine into the public and took in all the results.

Genres (votes);

135: indie, 143: rock, 101: chart, Dance: 86, Country/folk: 91.

These results show that the two most popular genres of music are rock and indie. I am going to mix these two genres because no other magazine has used these genres together, this is going to be one of my unique selling points of my magazine.

My magazine is now very individual within the music magazines genres, and fortunately all the votes were added up and the name ‘Indie-vidual’, was the most popular name choice.

This question was to find out what the public wanted to be able to win within the magazine competitions, this shows that the public would be interested more in my magazine if there was a prize that everyone would love.

Festivals are large attraction for people over the age of 16. My magazine is aimed at 16’s and over and these results show that the most popular festivals are Leeds and Glastonbury. Because of this my magazine will cover both of these festivals.

6.  What would you like to see within my music magazine?
Research into this question showed that 70% of viewers would like to see an equal spread or texts and images.

Researched shown that 60% of my audience would pay up to £4.00 for my music magazine.

8.  What Kind of articles and images would you expect or find interesting in my magazine?

My audience researched has shown that over 90% of people would  like to see a large sum of gig reviews, interviews about bands personal stories and about up coming albums and tours, and new pictures of bands at recent events.
So this is what i am going to include within my magazine.

9.  Do you prefer a magazine to stick to one genre, or to mix it up a little?

This question proved that 80% of the students who answered this question would like a slight mix up in genres but with popular artists. Seeing as Rock and Indie were the two most popular genre's, i am going to combine these genre's into one magazine to attract a wider audience.

10.   Should my magazine company create an app for smart phones? E.g. Online Magazine (pay monthly) Or other?

This showed that over 90% of students aged 16 and over would like an app for a smart phone. This app would be an online magazine, it also showed that they would like to pay for the magazine in one payment for each issue and not monthly.
